Suyana - Hope for a better future

Suyana supports people to improve their lives by themselves.
In Bolivia and Peru with its own projects, in Switzerland together with private individuals and other organisations.

BOLIVIA

Suyana works in 8 municipalities in the Bolivian departamento of La Paz. We support families, schools and communities in remote areas of the Andes. Because there are few roads, it is difficult to reach these areas and basic services are limited.

Most of the people living in the region are indigenous and survive through farming. The weather is harsh, the land is barren and people live in poverty.

PERU

Suyana works in municipalities in Peruvian department of Cusco and Puno. We support families, schools and communities in remote areas of the Andes. Because there are few roads, it is difficult to reach these areas and basic services are limited.

Most of the people living in the region are indigenous and survive through farming. The weather is harsh, the land is barren and people live in poverty.

SWITZERLAND

In Switzerland we support since the year 2009 projects off different organisations which are active in charitable work in educational or social fields. Furthermore we enable basic education and/or further training plans of private individuals.

As of the year 2013, we make it possible in the agricultural area to implement future oriented projects of various sectors. We cooperate mainly with peasant families.

Peru: Education – School Strategy

Rural schools face several hurdles to guarantee an adequate education. There is a lack of infrastructure and a healthy environment. Basic services are poor and teachers‘ resources are limited. The gap between urban and rural education is very wide and the government’s guidelines are not respected. This has a negative impact on the achievement of the SDG goals of Quality Education and Reducing Inequality. The Suyana School Project partners up with the education community to enforce public policy to give new generations a better chance in the future.
